How to Cancel Discord Nitro
Cancel Nitro or Nitro Basic on desktop, mobile, Apple, or Google Play — and keep benefits until the billing period ends.
Before you cancel
Canceling Discord Nitro stops future charges. You keep Nitro benefits until the end of the current billing period (or trial). Discord requires you to cancel on the same platform where you subscribed — desktop/browser purchases cancel in Discord; App Store or Google Play purchases cancel in those stores.
Canceling Nitro does not automatically cancel separate Server Boost subscriptions. Check Subscriptions for every active plan.
Cancel on desktop or browser
1. Open Discord on desktop or in a browser and click the User Settings gear next to your username.
2. Open the Subscriptions tab.
3. On the Nitro or Nitro Basic banner, click Cancel and follow the prompts until Discord confirms.
4. Confirm the expiry date shown afterward — that is when benefits end and billing stops.
Cancel in the Discord mobile app
1. Open the Discord app and tap your avatar.
2. Open Settings (gear), then Billing Settings → Manage Nitro (wording can vary slightly by version).
3. Choose Cancel for Nitro or Nitro Basic and confirm.
If you originally subscribed through Apple or Google, the Discord app may send you to the store’s subscription screen instead — finish canceling there.
Cancel App Store or Google Play subscriptions
iPhone / iPad: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Discord → Cancel Subscription.
Android: Google Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Discord → Cancel.
Store-billed Nitro cannot be fully canceled from the Discord desktop app alone. Use the same Apple ID or Google account that purchased the plan.
| Where you subscribed | Where to cancel |
|---|---|
| Discord desktop / browser | User Settings → Subscriptions in Discord |
| Discord iOS (Apple billing) | iOS Settings → Subscriptions |
| Discord Android (Play billing) | Google Play → Subscriptions |
Can’t log in to cancel?
If you lost access to the account, contact Discord Billing Support with the email on the Discord account and ask them to cancel the subscription. Use Discord’s official billing help links only — never send passwords to strangers claiming they can cancel for you.
What you lose after Nitro ends
When the period ends you lose Nitro-only perks such as higher upload limits, custom Discord emoji/stickers across servers, animated avatars/banners (where applicable), and Boost perks bundled with Nitro. Your account and servers stay; boosts billed separately may still be active.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does canceling Discord Nitro take effect immediately?
Billing stops for future cycles, but you usually keep Nitro until the current period or trial ends. Check the expiry date on the Subscriptions screen after you cancel.
Why can’t I cancel Nitro on desktop?
You likely subscribed through Apple or Google Play. Cancel in that store’s subscription settings with the same account that purchased Nitro.
Will canceling Nitro remove my Server Boosts?
Not always. Server Boosts can be a separate subscription. Open User Settings → Subscriptions and cancel each boost plan you no longer want.
Can I resubscribe later?
Yes. After canceling you can start Nitro again from Discord’s Nitro or Subscriptions screens whenever you want (subject to current pricing and offers).
